The Alliance Française de Singapour is proud to present the 2024 new edition of the Francophonie Film Festival ! This year, come and discover a rich and varied international program. Starting with the French comedy “This is the goat!”, Alliance française will propose joyful, sensitive and awarded films, such as the South Korean feature “Minari”, the Swiss movie “Marguerite’s theoreme”, or the Cambodian film “My Hero Teacher”. Others will take an educational approach to topical issues such as ecology and geopolitics, such as “The Sentries of Delta”, or “Dounia et la princesse d’Alep“. The Alliance Française de Singapour is delighted to welcome you and present, in collaboration with six embassies, an original program full of surprises and twists.

Marguerite, a brilliant mathematics student at the École Normale Supérieure, has her future all mapped out. Marguerite decides to leave everything behind and start again.

The Sentries of the Delta

Liviu Marghidan, 2021, Romania, 82 min. Family.

MARCH 29 – 8PM

This film presents the adventures of a couple of children in a camp situated in the Danube Delta; the story weaves together initiation lessons in kayaking and survival in the wild with environmental cleaning activity undertaken in this natural reserve. A group of 8 children break away from the rest of the members of the camp and discover some poachers, who are using an electric device to fish, which is extremely damaging and dangerous. The children are brushed away and mocked by the poachers and, in order to get their revenge, the children decide to steal their electric device the next day. A chase begins between the children and the poachers.
